Does the Center serve children and adults?
Yes.
Will treatment at the Center be reimbursed?
Most services at the Center will not be reimbursed by insurance. We are happy to provide receipts to those patients who wish to submit claims to their insurance for out-of-network services. Most practitioners at the Center will accept Health Savings Account cards. By working out-of-network, we have found that we are able to spend more time with and ultimately provide better care to our patients.
Isn’t treatment of Lyme disease, as well as PANS, controversial?
Yes. However, we know people are suffering. The practitioners in this clinic will devote themselves to understanding the latest developments in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Lyme, other tick-borne illnesses, and PANS/PANDAS. This is a work in progress. Fortunately, there are researchers and doctors forging ahead in these topics and publishing studies for the medical community, (e.g., see the entire issue of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology (February, 2015). There are also tenacious parents in our community who are working endlessly to create PANS/PANDAS awareness, support services, and professional conferences where doctors can educate other doctors about these complex disorders.
Where can I learn more about post-infection neuropsychiatric disorders (PANS/PANDAS)?
